Nick Teunissen obtained his Master of Arts title at the University of Amsterdam. He got his predilection for performing arts at the theater company NUHR and at poet Willem Wilmink, with whose daughter he made the song program Ballade Van Het Verlangen.
Teunissen worked closely with directors Fred Florusse, mime artist Martin Mens and Rob van de Meeberg.
Together with Rob van de Meeberg Nick developed the theater performance ‘One Way Ticket’, in which the refugee story of his Ismir and the siege of Sarajevo are central. After the praising four-star review in the Dutch Theaterkrant, a successful tour of the Dutch theaters followed. It even resulted in the international première in Sarajevo’s War Theater (SARTR) in 2019. Teunissen is currently working on the book ‘’Looking for Esmir’’, which will be published in three languages on 10 July 2021 by publishing houses Bloemberk and Dobra Knjiga.
